Bank Andara Changes Its Name to Bank Oke Indonesia

PT Bank Andara was officially renamed PT Bank Oke Indonesia, according to the company's announcement in Bisnis Indonesia, the largest business news paper in Indonesia that release today. Last year, a South Korean lender APRO Financial Co. Ltd has acquire a 40% stake in Bank Andara. As qouted by jakartapost.com, as of Dec 2012, the major shareholder in Bank Andara, at 22%, was the US aid agency Mercy Corps.

Thai bank company Acquires 9.99% Shares of Bank Maspion

Today, PT Bank Maspion Indonesia Tbk (BMAS), a banking company under Maspion Group sold 443,901,808 or 9.99% of its shares to Kasikornbank, a Thailand Banking Company with total assets of 2.44 trillion Baht (Rp 981 trillion). Unfortunately the value of the transaction is not disclosed.

The Player of Cigarette Industry in Indonesia: Japan Tobacco Inc.

In this week, Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT Group), the largest cigarette company in Japan has signed an agreement to purchase 100% of shares of PT Karyadibya Mahardika (KDM) and its distributor, PT Surya Mustika Nusantara (SMN) for US$ 1 billion (include net debt). On his offical statment, the transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter this year.

Agung Sedayu Group Rambah Bisnis Bioskop

Agung Sedayu Group, perusahaan properti milik konglomerat Aguan kini mulai ekspansi ke bisnis bioskop dengan bendera Flix Cinema. Seperti dikutip dari www.kontan.co.id, Agung Sedayu akan membuat promosi trial opening week pekan ini di gedung properti miliknya yakni di Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Avenue Mall, Jakarta Utara. 

Indosat and New Satellite

PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT), one of the largest telecomunication companies in Indonesia, established a new company namely PT Palapa Satelit Nusa Sejahtera (PSNS) according to Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) announcement that released today. This Company is a joint venture company with PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) and PT Pintar Nusantara. Indosat hold 35%, while PT Pintar Nusantara hold 55% and PSN hold 10%.

Today PSNS signed a satellite purchase agreement with China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), a Chinese satellite producer. The signing of a purchase contract worth approximately US$ 220 million.

Indonesian's External Debt Up 2,9% YoY in Q1 2017

Bank Indonesia (BI) reported  that Indonesia’s external debt in first quarter 2017 reached US$ 326 bilion,  an increase 2,9% from corresponding last year (yoy). Public sector external debt contribute 51% (US$ 166,5 bilion) from total external debt. While, private external debt contribute 49% (US$ 159,9 bilion). The ratio external debt to GDP in first quarter 2017 reached 34% decreased when compared to first quarter 2016 which amounted to 37%.

Anis Sandi & Saham Bir

Baru-baru ini wacana penjualan saham bir yang dimiliki Pemprov DKI di PT Delta Jakarta Tbk (DLTA) kembali mengemuka. Kali ini datang dari Sandiaga S Uno, wakil Gubernur DKI Jakarta yang baru terpilih yang menegaskan untuk menjual saham tersebut. Sebetulnya, bukan kali ini wacana penjualan saham bir yang dimiliki San Miguel, perusahaan bir asal Filipina dan Pemprov DKI ini ramai diperbincangkan.

Dua tahun lalu, Fahira Fahmi Idris, anggota DPD yang lebih suka dipanggil senator ini juga terlibat perseturuan dengan Ahok. Gara-garanya Ahok bersikukuh untuk mempertahankan kepemilikan saham Pemprov DKI Jakarta di perusahaan bir tersebut. Padahal, kata Fahira, bir yang diproduksi PT Delta Jakarta itu membahayakan kesehatan dan mematikan satu orang dalam setiap 10 menit (Tempo.co,11/4/15). Entah atas dasar apa Fahira mengemukakan alasan seperti itu.
